PWSA REPAIRS WATER MAIN LEAK IN POLISH HILL

The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority will repair a water main leak on Herron Avenue in Polish Hill.  Residents on the following streets may experience low pressure and an interruption of service:

Fleetwood Way between 1029 Fleetwood and Hancock Street

Herron Avenue between Harding Street and Ridgway Street

Hancock Street between Fleetwood Way and Herron Avenue

Bethoven Way between Bigelow Boulevard and Harding Street

Brereton Street between Dobson Street and Hancock Street

Phelan Way between 30th Street and Herron Avenue

Paulowna Street between 30th Street and Herron Avenue

Ridgway Street (west of Herron Avenue)

Leander Street

Rust Way

Kenney Way

Stockholm Street

Crews will begin work at 5:00 pm and work is expected to be complete by 11:00 pm. In the event of an emergency, you can contact PWSA dispatch at 412-255-2429 or 412-255-2409.

 

Planned Improvements

March 15, 2010

 

DAVISON STREET IN LAWRENCEVILLE

PWSA contractors will be working to install a new 12-inch waterline and a new 42-inch sewer line in Davison Street in Lawrenceville. Davison Street will be closed from 42nd Street to 44th Street Monday through Friday from 7:00 am –

5:00 pm. The street will reopen during non working hours. Work will begin March 15, 2010 and is expected to be complete by May 15, 2010. Final paving restoration will be done over the summer.

 

FREEPORT ROAD

PWSA contractors will be working to install approximately 1,000 feet of 8-inch ductile iron water line on Old Freeport Road. This work will impact traffic only. Water service will NOT be interrupted. Traffic will be down to one lane on Old Freeport Road from the intersection of Old Freeport Road and Freeport Road to 1311 Old Freeport Road. A Flag Person will be on site to facilitate two-way traffic. Crews will work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. Work is expected to be complete by the end of March. Final paving restoration will be done over the summer.

 

DESDEMONA AVE IN SQUIRREL HILL

The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority have contractors working to construct sanitary sewers and separate an existing combination sewer in Desdemona Avenue in Squirrel Hill. Work will expand to include the berm of Browns Hill Road and Imogene Road. Work is expected to be complete by the end of March.

 

SEMPLE STREET IN OAKLAND

PWSA contractors are installing new storm sewers in Semple Street in Oakland. Work will take place between

7:00 am and 5:00 pm. During this time, Semple Street will be closed from Forbes Avenue to Louisa Street. The road will be re-opened during weekends and non-working hours.
