Planned Improvements

July 27, 2010

 

West Liberty Avenue/ Beechview

PWSA contractors will make repairs to a sewer line in West Liberty Avenue in the Beechview Neighborhood. Work will begin Monday, July 26, 2010 and is expected to be complete by Monday, August 9, 2010. Work will be facilitated between 7:00 pm and 6:00 am. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane outbound approximately 1,500 feet north of the Route 51 interchange to the intersection at Cape May Avenue.

 

Reed Street/ Hill District

PWSA contractors are in the process of installing storm sewers in Reed Street in the Hill District. The sewers will increase public safety by providing better street drainage and reducing the burden on our sewer system. Reed Street will be closed from Soho Street to Center Avenue and will remain open to emergency vehicles ONLY. Work is expected to be complete by the end of September.

 

MIFFLIN ROAD/ MCBRIDE STREET

PWSA contractors are working on McBride Street Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Work is expected to be complete by the end of summer.

 

DAVISON STREET IN LAWRENCEVILLE

PWSA contractors will be working to install a new 12-inch waterline and a new 42-inch sewer line in Davison Street in Lawrenceville. Davison Street will be closed from 42nd Street to 44th Street Monday through Friday from 7:00 am –

5:00 pm. The street will reopen during non working hours. Work is expected to be complete by the end of summer.

 

FREEPORT ROAD

PWSA contractors will be working to install approximately 1,000 feet of 8-inch ductile iron water line on Old Freeport Road. This work will impact traffic only. Water service will NOT be interrupted. Traffic will be down to one lane on Old Freeport Road from the intersection of Old Freeport Road and Freeport Road to 1311 Old Freeport Road. A Flag Person will be on site to facilitate two-way traffic. Crews will work Monday through Friday from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. Work is expected to be complete by the end of March. Final paving restoration will be done over the summer.

 

SEMPLE STREET IN OAKLAND

PWSA contractors have completed work in Semple Street. Departmemnt of Public Works is paving.
