PWSA UPDATE ON FORBES AVENUE IN OAKLAND

The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) contractors poured over 300 cubic yards of concrete this past weekend in preparation for paving and the partial opening of traffic on Forbes Avenue between South Craig Street and Morewood Avenue.  Per PennDOT specifications, strength of the concrete is tested at seven days to assure it is cured and traffic worthy.  Testing will be performed on Monday, March 28, 2016, and upon passing, paving will begin immediately.

An update will be provided by Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at 5:00 p.m., pending PennDOT approval of the concrete testing.

Public safety continues to be the top priority for PWSA and the City as we coordinate efforts to open the road, and we appreciate the continued patience of the public during reconstruction.

The detour route will remain in place with traffic rerouted around the construction site.

Any customer who needs additional information should call PWSA Emergency Dispatch 24/7 at 412.255.2423.
