UPDATE: PWSA is making emergency repairs to a 16-inch water main on second avenue in Bluff/Oakland

UPDATE, 7/22/2016 at 12:30pm

The water main has been repaired, a 16-inch water valve is now being installed.

The DPW Traffic Engineer directed PWSA to restrict traffic to INBOUND only. 

All OUTBOUND will exit via the 10th Street Bridge detour.


UPDATE, 7/21/2016 at 3:50pm

The traffic will remain restricted to one lane.  It will be opened to OUTBOUND traffic beginning at 4:30 p.m.  Signage is in the process of being changed.

The 2nd Avenue parking lot is off limits, barricades have been put in place.

Repair work will continue overnight, and tomorrow morning the traffic will be switched back to INBOUND only.


The PWSA contractor continues to make repairs to a 16-inch water main on 2nd Avenue today, July 21, 2016.

2nd Avenue (10th Street Bridge – Birmingham Bridge) is restricted to one lane INBOUND until 3:00 p.m.  Then it will switch to being one lane open OUTBOUND.  Traffic will remain restricted until repairs are complete.
