Zoom Meeting

The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority is hosting an online meeting to review plans to construct the first phase of the Maryland Avenue Stormwater Improvement Project along Howe Street and Kentucky Avenue. This meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the project and ask questions about its design, the construction schedule, and potential impacts.

About the Project
The Maryland Avenue Stormwater Improvement Project will use cost-effective green stormwater solutions throughout Shadyside to reduce runoff entering the combined sewer system. These stormwater solutions will be constructed within the public right of way (public streets and sidewalks). This project will help to reduce the ongoing issues of basement backups, neighborhood flooding, and combined sewer overflows that commonly occur during heavy rains. The first phase of the project includes Howe Street and Kentucky Avenue between South Negley Avenue and College Street.

This project is partially funded by ALCOSAN's GROW grant program.
