This project, in the Friendship/East Liberty neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh, will replace approximately 3,600 feet of aging water main, providing more reliable water service to our customers. This site was scheduled for replacement after several water main breaks occurred over the past year. As part of the main replacement, we will replace all residential public water service lines, including lead water service lines, with a non-lead material.
Progress & Status
- As of July 27, work has been changed to take place during the daytime only. Crews will close the street, block-by-block, to complete water main installation. Detour signage, flaggers, and off-duty police will be on site to direct traffic.
- All new water main has been installed.
- Crews continue to install new service lines.
- After service lines installation is completed, crews will begin to restore the street.
