Lead Service Line Replacement - Neighborhood Project

Completed Water

As part of this project, we replaced lead water service lines throughout our service area to reduce exposure to lead in drinking water. To avoid partial lead line replacements, we coordinated with customers to replace private lead service lines at no cost when replacing public lead lines.

The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) completed its 2019 Lead Service Line Replacement Project in Summer 2020, completing thousands of lead service line replacements at no cost to customers.

Starting in 2020, PWSA has continued it's lead line replacement program via water main replacements. This work upgrades all water infrastructure on the street, making it even more efficient and beneficial for our customers.
