We are rehabilitating the 100+ year old M-29 combined sewer outfall and replacing the endwall on the Monongahela River. The project improvements will extend the useful life of the outfall, reduce river flow entering the combined sewer system, and mitigate backups into the Four Mile Run neighborhood.
Progress & Status
These improvements are part of the larger Four Mile Run Stormwater Project, which encompasses Schenley Park and several Pittsburgh neighborhoods including Greenfield, Hazelwood, Oakland, Squirrel Hill, and the Run.
Repairs include:
- Lining 450 linear feet of the 14 foot diameter arched culvert
- Installing a new stainless steel flap gate on the river
- Lowering a concrete weir structure under Second Avenue
Financial Partners
- This project is partially funded by ALCOSAN.
