2019 Sewer Lining
This project took place throughout our service area, will rehabilitate 4.6 miles of sewers by installing an airtight, watertight lining inside of aging sewer pipes. This work has minimal impact to residents and is a cost-effective way to extend the life of our sewer system. Lining sewers will improve reliability and ensure better service to our customers.
Centre & Herron Stormwater Project
This project at the intersection of Centre and Herron avenues directs runoff from surrounding streets into a cascading 585 foot-long bioswale, where it is absorbed by plants or soaks into the ground. Additional stormwater flows into underground storage tanks and is slowly released into the sewer system.
Edgerton Avenue Sewer Relocation Project
This sewer relocation project is in response to a 15-inch sewer collapse in the Point Breeze neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh. The work includes relocating the collapsed sewer into the edge of the Homewood Cemetery.
Four Mile Run Early Action Projects
In early December 2019 we began the construction of two green infrastructure projects that will help to manage stormwater within Four Mile Run. These engineered drainage channels, are being built in Schenley Park along Overlook Drive and next to the Bridle Trail.
