Lawn & Ophelia Stormwater Project
The Lawn and Ophelia Parklet is a city-owned park located in the South Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh. This stormwater project will help to manage 1.5 inches of rain from 1.86 acres of impervious surfaces like roofs and pavement using green infrastructure.
Planning & Future Projects
When PWSA's water mains, sewer pipes, and treatment facilities reach the end of their life, our team of engineers and project managers get to work designing and building new infrastructure. These projects are called "capital investments," and improve our water and sewer system for the long haul.Planning & Future Projects Overview
Stewart Avenue Stormwater Improvements Project
In partnership with the City of Pittsburgh, we are planning a stormwater and roadway improvements project to address flooding issues at and around Stewart Avenue in the Carrick neighborhood.
Winchester Drive Stormwater Improvements
PWSA is making several sewer improvements on Winchester Drive and Grovemount Road to address stormwater issues.
M-29 Outfall Improvement Project
We rehabilitated the 100+ year old M-29 combined sewer outfall and replaced the endwall on the Monongahela River. The project improvements will extend the useful life of the outfall, reduce river flow entering the combined sewer system, and mitigate backups into the Four Mile Run neighborhood.
