Highland II Reservoir: Liner and Cover Replacement
The Highland II Reservoir Liner and Cover Replacement includes the demolition and removal of the existing liner and cover and installation of a new reservoir liner, floating cover, and supplemental equipment such as the rainwater removal pumps and associated piping on the floating cover.
Wightman Park Stormwater Project: Phase Two
We are constructing a network of stormwater "green streets" in Squirrel Hill to direct stormwater to recently improved infrastructure within Wightman Park. By capturing and managing stormwater, this project aims to reduce overflows of combined stormwater and sewage into the Monongahela River, flooding in the park, and basement sewage backups in the neighborhood.
Planning & Future Projects
When PWSA's water mains, sewer pipes, and treatment facilities reach the end of their life, our team of engineers and project managers get to work designing and building new infrastructure. These projects are called "capital investments," and improve our water and sewer system for the long haul.Planning & Future Projects Overview
Haverhill Stormwater Improvements Project
We are planning stormwater improvements to address a groundwater seep and related slope stability issues at City-owned vacant properties on Haverhill Street at the intersection of the East Hills and Homewood neighborhoods.
Winchester Drive Stormwater Improvements
PWSA is making several sewer improvements on Winchester Drive and Grovemount Road to address stormwater issues.
High Park Place Water Main Replacement Project
This project, in the Highland Park neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh, will replace approximately 350 feet of aging water main, providing more reliable water service to our customers. This site was scheduled for replacement after several water main breaks occurred over the past year. As part of the main replacement, we will replace water service lines, including lead water service lines, with a non-lead material.
