Doing Business with PWSA

The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority (PWSA) contracts with engineering firms, construction companies, professional consultants, and a variety of vendors to provide the equipment and supplies needed to deliver water services to the City of Pittsburgh. From infrastructure projects to modernize our facilities, contractors to support our operational work, and the materials needed to treat and process water, many of our contracts range from several thousand dollars to several million dollars depending upon the project and scope of work. 

It’s important that companies interested in bidding on or submitting proposals can easily find the information they need to participate in these opportunities. The following information lists current opportunities, describes the process, and will help you get started. 

 

Current Solicitations


 

Request for Proposals for a Unified Communications System, PWSA Project No. PWSA92

Through the issuance of this Request for Proposals (RFP), the Authority is interested in soliciting proposals (Proposals) from firms that are financially and technically qualified to provide a Unified Communications System to replace the current PBX system, which is outdated and has limited functional capability.   

All proposals MUST be submitted in accordance with the solicitation that can be obtained by sending an e-mail to cjuratovic@pgh2o.com.  There will be no charge for the solicitation, as it will be sent via e-mail. All questions relating to the solicitation itself shall be directed to Autumn Barna, Procurement Manager, via e-mail: abarna@pgh2o.com, no later than March 6, 2018.

All Offerors interested in submitting a proposal in response to this solicitation are invited to attend a Pre-Proposal Meeting, to be held on February 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. EST in the Authority’s Conference Room, 1200 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.  The purpose of this meeting is to give an overview of the contract requirements and to allow Offerors to ask questions. 

 

Proposals are due March 13, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. EST. 


 

Invitation for Bids for the Smallman Street Reconstruction Project

PWSA PROJECT NO. 2017-424-113-0

All bids must be submitted in accordance with the solicitation that can be obtained by sending an e-mail to cjuratovic@pgh2o.com.  There will be no charge for the solicitation, as it will be sent via e-mail. All questions relating to the solicitation itself shall be directed to Autumn Barna, Procurement Manager, via e-mail: abarna@pgh2o.com, no later than 4:00 p.m. February 20, 2018.

Work of the Contract includes the installation of approximately 2,200 feet of new 12” ductile iron waterline, 1,600 relay of 36” ductile iron water line, 2,200 feet of new reinforced concrete sanitary sewer from 18” to 48” and 2,100 feet of new reinforced concrete storm sewer from 18” to 54” along with valves, manholes and all related appurtenances.

All Bidders interested in submitting a bid in response to this solicitation are invited to attend a Pre-Bid Meeting to be held on February 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. EST in the Authority’s conference room located at 1200 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15222. 

 

Bids are due February 27, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. EST.


 

Invitation for Bids for the 2018 Lead Service Line Replacement Contract

PWSA PROJECT NO. 2018-325-100-0

All bids must be submitted in accordance with the solicitation that can be obtained by sending an e-mail to cjuratovic@pgh2o.com.  There will be no charge for the solicitation, as it will be sent via e-mail. All questions relating to the solicitation itself shall be directed to Autumn Barna, Procurement Manager, via e-mail: abarna@pgh2o.com, no later than February 20, 2018.

Work of the Contract includes the replacement of public water service connections of the PWSA public water system and any repair or rehabilitation of water mains, valves, and hydrants of the PWSA public water system that are necessary to facilitate the replacement of the public water services. 

 

All Bidders interested in submitting a bid in response to this solicitation are invited to attend a MANDATORY Pre-Bid Meeting to be held on February 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. EST in the Authority’s conference room located at 1200 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA, 15222. 

 

Bids are due February 27, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. EST.

Submitting a Bid or Proposal

Contractors, consultants, and vendors interested in submitting a bid or proposal in response to an advertised solicitation should be sure to follow the instructions provided in the announcement and/or solicitation.
 

Awarding Contracts

The PWSA Board of Directors approves the award of contracts, when required by the Delegation of Authority, at monthly public PWSA Board Meetings. Our meetings are held on the last Friday of each month unless otherwise noted or announced.
