Water Wise: Drink Up!

Hydrate with tap water you can trust.

Did you know your drinking water meets or exceeds all federal and state safety standards?

Drinking tap water is not only safe and cost-effective but also good for the environment and reducing plastic water bottle use.

Proper hydration is fundamental to good health, especially in the warmer months. With the rigorous testing your tap water undergoes — around 3,000 quality tests per month — you can be confident you're getting safe, high-quality hydration all summer long.

Hydration tips:

Group hydrating
  • Drink more than you think: Aim for 11 to 16 8-ounce glasses a day. Adjust if you’re active. Drink water before, during, and after physical activity.
  • Carry a reusable bottle: Drink, refill, repeat.
  • Set reminders: Alerts can remind you to drink more water. Some apps can track water intake.
  • Start and end your day with water: Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning and before bed.
  • Drink before you're thirsty: Thirst is a sign that your body is already dehydrating, so drink throughout the day.
  • Flavor your water: Add berries or slices of lemon, lime, or cucumber to jazz it up.
