Pittsburgh Water and the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy are teaming up to plant trees in Highland Park. Following the installation of a new large water pipeline completed in 2022, we committed to planting several trees to masque some of the water infrastructure and beautify the park. We are excited to partner with the Parks Conservancy and Highland Park Community Council to improve the landscaping within one of Pittsburgh's most beloved parks.

Work Description: Planting, mulching, watering, and protecting about 20 large landscape trees along Serviceberry Trail (Bunker Hill Trail) in Highland Park. The nature of the work will include significant physical exertion including digging and heavy lifting, and will not be appropriate for unassisted young children.

Attire / Weather: Please be sure to wear sturdy, close-toed shoes and comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty. Also please dress in accordance with the weather conditions, ideally in layers that can be added or removed over the course of the morning. We will work in light rain but cancel in the event of heavy rain, thunderstorms, or other severe weather conditions.

Equipment: Gloves, tools, and supplies will be provided by PPC. Please bring water to stay hydrated.
