Recap: United for Infrastructure Week 2024

A roundup of some of the investments we've made to renew our drinking water, sewage, and stormwater systems.
lead levels Oct. 2025

United for Infrastructure Week, held in May, highlights the importance of investing in critical infrastructure systems to help strengthen communities, improve public health, create jobs, and advance national competitiveness. This year, PWSA showcased some of the investments we've made to renew our drinking water, sewage, and stormwater systems since 2018, totaling around $700 million. This includes projects that have directly benefited from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).

The 400-plus employees who make up PWSA are proud of our accomplishments, and are happy to share the top infrastructure investment "wins" celebrated during the week.

Water Reliability Plan progress and an update on the Highland Reservoir Pump Station project, which kicked off this spring.

Removal of our 11,000th public lead service line, made possible in part by grants and low-interest loans from the BIL.

We also posted a throwback to the Vice President's visit to Pittsburgh earlier this year. The White House also gave a shout-out to our work during the week, again elevating the progress we're making to the national stage.

Learn more about our investments in our 2023 Year in Review report.
