We target all lead lines in a geographic space, passing over non-lead service lines. When a private service line is made of lead, we will work with the property owner to replace the line at no direct cost.
Progress & Status
Since Pittsburgh Water's lead line replacement program first began in 2016, we have replaced thousands of lead service lines and are on track to replace all residential public and private lead service lines in our service area by 2027 – at no direct cost to our customers.
Visit our Lead Information page to learn more about our Community Lead Response program and get the facts about lead in drinking water.
Have an upcoming lead line replacement and want to know what to expect? Visit our Lead Line Replacement Programs page to learn how service lines are replaced, explore our lead line map, and view the daily list of project sites.
Note: Percentage completion on this project refers to the total number of sites addressed as part of this construction contract and does not reference to the total number of Pittsburgh Water sites completed over time.
