Rising Mains 3 & 4 Upgrades

In Construction Water Reliability Plan

This project is located in the Highland Park neighborhood within the City of Pittsburgh, in the vicinity of the Washington Boulevard, Allegheny River Boulevard, One Wild Place and surrounding areas including the Pittsburgh Zoo. Crews will rehabilitate and replace transmission water mains connecting the Bruecken Pump Station and covered Highland Reservoir No. 2. Making any repairs to these pipes will ensure there is reliable water service to many of our customers.

Construction Complete

Crews are nearly complete with all trenched rehabilitation of Rising Main 3. The remainder of the work will take place via remote lining work. 

Traffic Impacts: 

The righthand lane of outgoing traffic on One Wild Place is closed until early February. Full restoration of the roadway will occur in the spring.  

The righthand outbound lane on Washington Boulevard - between Allegheny Boulevard and the Highland Park Bridge exit - is closed to traffic to allow for equipment to access the worksite. This closure will be in place until April 2022.

Traffic Patterns: Lane closures and detours will be utilized as needed
