Highland I Reservoir Security Improvements
To maintain the open Highland I Reservoir as a public amenity, we are constructing several projects to meet stricter state water quality regulations and security improvements. These projects will improve the security of our drinking water.
Volunteers Field Stormwater Project: Rain Garden
Volunteers Field is a city park located in the Carrick neighborhood. The location of the park makes it an effective site to manage stormwater using green stormwater infrastructure solutions.
Greystone Drive Water Main Replacement Project
This project, in the Highland Park neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh, will replace approximately 550 feet of aging water main, providing more reliable water service to our customers. This site was scheduled for replacement after several water main breaks occurred over the past year. As part of the main replacement, we will replace all public water service lines, including lead water service lines, with a non-lead material.
Small Diameter Sewer Reconstruction Project
This project in the Overbrook neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh, will line several miles of aging sewers, repair broken sewers, relocate storm drains, and separate combined storm and sanitary sewers where needed. Work will be completed at numerous locations throughout the neighborhood and residents will be notified when work may impact them. Lining and repairing these sewers will extend the life of the sewer system and ensure better service to our customers.
